The existing 48 unit complex was acquired in 2023. The opportunity was identified that an additional building could be added to the property and BCA was selected to design the proposed new building. The design is to be consistent with the existing buildings maintaining a two-story height with hipped roofs and utilizing brick as one of the main building materials. A substantial area of adjacent wetlands limited the developable area. The design team determined that 24 one-bedroom units with associated parking and septic system would fit within the available area. The units will meet the affordability standards of Connecticut's 830g affordability standards. The project is currently working through the necessary land use approvals and design review with the town and is expected to be under construction in the Summer of 2025.
